As a father, I never imagined that my son would become addicted to drugs. But that's exactly what happened. It started with prescription pain pills, which he was taking for a sports injury. But before I knew it, he was hooked on opioids.

At first, I didn't realize what was going on. He was still going to school and playing sports, so I thought he was just going through a rough patch. But then I started to notice changes in his behavior. He became withdrawn and secretive. He started skipping school and hanging out with a new crowd.

But then something changed. My son finally hit rock bottom. He lost his job, his girlfriend, and his apartment. He was homeless and desperate. That's when he finally decided to get clean.

He went to a long-term rehab program, and this time, it stuck. He's been clean for over two years now. He has a job, an apartment, and a girlfriend. He's even started going back to school.

I'm so proud of my son for overcoming his addiction. It wasn't easy, but he did it. And I'm so grateful that he's still here with me.
